Decorated Trojan Recognized by College Sports Information Directors of America
Southern California standout swimmer Kaitlyn Dobler added an additional accolade to her trophy case Wednesday as she was selected to the 2022 Academic All-America® Division I women's at-large second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Dobler was among 48 decorated student-athletes across the country voted onto the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I women's at-large first, second and third teams. The full list of 2022 women's at-large honorees can be viewed at CoSIDA.com. The rising junior is the first Trojan swimmer or diver to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors since diver Henry Fusaro was named to the men's at-large Third Team in 2020.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Dobler carries a 3.71 grade point average in Astronautical Engineering. The Trojan turned in a colossus 2022 season, winning an NCAA crown (100-yard breaststroke) and defending her conference title in the 100-yard breaststroke. The 3x All-American contributed to multiple USC record setting relays at the NCAA Championships and turned in a conference record in her specialty event (100-yard breaststroke). The Portland native also swam on USC's 400-yard medley relay that turned in the fastest time in school history to finish seventh at the NCAA Championships.
Recently, Dobler was named to the Pac-12's Winter Academic Honor Roll and the CoSida Academic All-District Team (Women's At-Large) after a successful year in the classroom.
