USC Baseball Drops 5-4 Decision at Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth as the USC baseball team dropped a 5-4 decision on the road Tuesday night.
The Trojans fall to 18-16 overall, while Cal State Fullerton improves to 14-20 on the season.
USC capitalized on a Titan error to snag an early 1-0 lead in the first, and then got a two-run homer from Rhylan Thomas in the second to go ahead 3-0.
Fullerton would score a pair of runs on a Brendan Bobo single in the fourth, pulling to within a run, but USC had an answer in the fifth thanks to a run-scoring double off the wall from Tyresse Turner. The Titans again made it a one-run game when Austin Schell doubled home a run in the bottom of the sixth.
The Trojan lead would hold until the ninth, but Deylan Pigford singled home a run to tie the game and then later scored on a wild pitch to win it for the home team.
