USC’s Chris O’Grady Reaches Consolation Final to Cap NCAA Swim and Dive Championships

Trojan freshman Chris O'Grady reached the consolation final of the 200y breaststroke to highlight USC's efforts during the final evening of action at the 2022 NCAA Men's Swim and Dive Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.
USC wraps up the NCAA championships in 26th place, tallying 25 points to improve from their 27th place finish last season.
During prelims, freshman O'Grady clocked a 1:52.41 and secured a second swim in the 200y breaststroke with the 15th fastest time. He returned to post a 1:52.89 during the consolation final and finish eighth in the heat.
After taking a trip to the podium last night in the 100y breaststroke, USC's Trent Pellini carried his momentum into the 200y breaststroke, posting a PR time of 1:53.70, dropping almost three seconds to finish 25th overall.
Distance specialists Daniel Matheson (15:04.43) and Victor Johansson (15:22.23) swam in the 1650y freestyle, finishing 26th and 33rd, respectively.
In the 200y fly, senior Alexei Sancov touched 19th, posting a 1:42.29, just .48 seconds off his best time of 1:41.81.
Senior Nikola Miljenic raced in the 100y free, finishing 25th in the event in 42.26.
During the final race of the evening, Troy's A-relay of Miljenic, Sancov, Max Saunders and Pellini combined to post a 2:51.23 and finish 19th overall.
