USC’s Trent Pellini Shatters Trojan Record During Second Day of NCAA Championships

Trojan Trent Pellini broke the school record in the 200y IM to highlight USC's efforts during the second day of competition at the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.
Pellini, who finished 32nd in the event, blasted a 1:43.78 to lower USC's previous mark set by teammate Alexei Sancov in 2019 (1:43.92).
Also appearing in the race was Chris O'Grady who posted a PR 1:45.74 for 53rd. Ben Dillard touched 51st in 1:45.71.
In the 500y free, USC's Victor Johansson was 26th in 4:16.31 while freshman Daniel Matheson was shortly behind in 4:16.34 for 27th.
In the diving well, USC's Shangfei Wang led the Trojans, finishing 18th on men's 1-meter with 322.85. Junior George Korovin was 39th with 279.55.
USC wrapped up the evening with a 19th place finish in the 200y free relay as Nikola Miljenic, Artem Selin, Alexei Sancov and Max Saunders combined for a 1:16.90.

The championships will be held at the McAuley Aquatic Center with live championship coverage airing on ESPN3 for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday.
