Women of Troy Shatter School Relay Record to Open NCAA Swim and Dive Championships

The No. 11 Women of Troy, led by USC's school record-breaking relay quartet, wrapped up the first evening of competition at the 2022 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday (Mar. 16) in Atlanta, Georgia.Â
USC opened the evening with a school record in the 200y medley relay as the Trojan powerhouse quartet of Calypso Sheridan, Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado and Laticia Transom combined for a 1:34.66. The previous record of 1:35.18 was set by Hanni Leach, Riley Scott, Louise Hansson and Anika Apostalon in 2017.
With their ninth-place finish, the Trojan relay picks up All-American honorable mention status.
In the 800y free relay Caroline Pennington, Marlene Kahler, Adair Sand and Genevieve Sasseville posted a 7:10.75 to finish 20th.
Through one evening of competition, USC currently sits in 13th place with 18 points.
Tomorrow, action will continue at 7 a.m. PT with the 500y free, 200y IM and 50y free.
