HIGH SCHOOL: Pennington, a USA Junior National Team member and distance free specialist, is the North Carolina 18 & under record holder in the 1650y free ... At the USA Swimming Wave II Olympic Trials, Pennington finished 15th in the 1500m free (16:39.27), 19th in the 800m free (8:45.56) and 29th in the 400m free (4:16.11) … In 2021, Pennington had a banner year, taking 2nd both in 400 free (4:15.70) and 1500 free (16:33.21) at the Pro Series in Richmond ... 2nd both in the 500 free (443.46) and 1650 free (1603.21) at Winter Junior Championships... 2nd in the 400 free, 800 free and 1500 free at the US Open Greensboro… Pennington also excels in the classroom and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Personal: Born March 10, 2003 to parents Katherine and Oliver Pennington. Mom, Katherine, attended USC. At 17 years old, Pennington battled Melanoma and has since become an IMPACT Melanoma Ambassador.
PENNINGTON’S PERSONAL RECORDS
- Pennington was an instant impact transfer for USC, winning a Pac-12 Title and scoring at NCAA’s all within her first semester
- At the 2022 NCAA Championships, Pennington finished 11th in the 1650y freestyle (16:03.16), 45th in the 500y free (4:46.11) and swam on the Trojans’ 800y free relay that finished 20th
- Claimed the 1650y free (15:48.69) at the Pac-12 Championships to pick up her first conference crown. In doing so, Pennington became the first Trojan to win a conference title in the mile since Elizabeth Stinson in 2016 and the first Trojan freshman to claim the event since Haley Anderson in 2010. She was also sixth in the 500y free (4:43.10) and 32nd in the 200y free (1:49.44)
- Against UCLA (2/11-2/12), the distance free specialist claimed the 1650y free and set a Spieker Aquatic Center record, posting a 16:00.73
