USC’s Kaitlyn Dobler Repeats As 100 Breaststroke Champion, Breaks Own USC and Pac-12 Meet Record

Sophomore Dobler also set a Pac-12 record with 57.31 -100y breaststroke performance.
USC sophomore Kaitlyn Dobler won her second Pac-12 title in the 100y breast, leading No. 11 USC during the third night of competition at the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Swimming Championships in Federal Way, Wash., on Friday (Feb. 25).
Other top performances included a second-place finish from Laticia Transom in the 200y free, junior Nike Agunbiade's runner-up finish on women's platform and senior Calypso Sheridan's third place finish in the 400y I.M.
Dobler crushed the 100y breast with a PR 57.31, lowering her own school record and Pac-12 Championship mark set in 2021. With her time, she also set the overall Pac-12 record in the event, previously held by Stanford's Sarah Haase (2016).
Also appearing in the 100y breast championship final was Isabelle Odgers (59.72) and Nicole Pavlopoulou (59.86), who finished 4-5, respectively.
Transom led the first 150 yards of the 200 free with Cal's Isabel Ivey coming from behind to take first just .20 ahead of Transom's 1:42.49. Finishing seventh in the consolation final was sophomore Adair Sand in 1:47.22.
Graduate Transfer Calypso Sheridan got to work in the 400y I.M., claiming the third spot on the podium during finals. Sheridan shaved off about six seconds from her prelims time to post a 4:07.18 and take third.
USC's Caroline Famous touched seventh in the A-final of the 100y back in 52.77. Swimming in the consolation final was Trojan Jade Hannah who took the event in a Famous-equivalent time of 52.77.
After claiming the 50y free title last night, Anicka Delgado returned for another impressive performance, this time in the 100y fly, clocking a 52.25 for fourth. Senior Hallie Kinsey (53.11) finished third and Genevieve Sasseville (53.67) touched eighth in the consolation final.
The Women of Troy wrapped up the third evening of action with a second-place finish in the 400y medley relay as Hannah, Dobler, Sheridan and Delgado combined for a 3:29.09.
At the Pac-12 Diving Championships in Tucson, Ariz., USC had four Trojans advance to the women's platform championship final. Agunbiade led the Trojans with a second-place finish, tallying 295.15 to finish behind Arizona's 2020 Olympian Delaney Schnell. Sophomore Maddie Huitt (246.75) headlined a 5-6-7 finish in the championship final with Savannah Stocker in sixth (224.00) and Grace Lee (217.70) in seventh.
At the men's Pac-12 Diving Championships, Trojan George Korovin finished sixth on 3-meter, wrapping up the day with 349.35.
The Pac-12 Women's Swimming Championships conclude tomorrow with prelims at 10:30 a.m. PT and finals at 6 p.m. Saturday also wraps up competition for Troy at the Pac-12 Men's Diving Championships.
