USC’s Eryn Cayetano Captures Singles Championship at Jack Kramer Classic

USC women's tennis senior Eryn Cayetano won five individual matches to capture the singles championship at the 2022 Jack Kramer Club Classic in Rolling Hills, Calif. on Sunday, Nov. 6.
Cayetano, the ITA No. 1 ranked player and No. 1 seed in the tournament, downed Cal Poly's Melissa LaMette (6-2, 6-2) and UCSB's Camille Kiss (6-2, 6-3) on Friday, Nov. 4 to kick off what would be a championship run for the Trojan. A day later, the singles All-American would defeat ASU's Parker Fry 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the singles semifinals. It was a stacked Trojan semifinal as USC's Cayetano faced teammate McKenna Koenig, beating Koenig 6-1, 6-1 to secure a spot in the final. On Sunday afternoon, Cayetano would defeat LMU's Stefania Rogozinska-Dzik 6-2, 6-3 to capture the singles title.

THUNDERBIRD INVITE:
A handful of Trojans were in competition over the weekend at ASU's Thunderbird Invite in Tempe, Ariz., with USC winning five singles and four doubles matches over the course of three days. The Woman of Troy faced opponents from San Diego, Auburn, Ohio State, California, Michigan and host ASU.

Trojan freshman Madison Sieg def. Stanford's Angelic Blake 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 on Wednesday, Nov. 2 to punch her ticket into the women's singles Round of 16. Her fall season would end on Thursday, Nov. 3 as she'd be forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury. Sieg wraps up the fall with a singles record of 10-1 (not including her withdraw).
