2021-22 SEASON: Eryn Cayetano finished her stellar junior campaign as a Honda Sport Award finalist (tennis) and All-American (singles) … In the early goings of what would become her winningest season as a Trojan, Cayetano made a statement in winning the 2021 ITA National Fall Singles Championship (first Trojan to win the title since Maria Sanchez in 2010) … Primarily played from the No. 2 (10-2) and No. 1 (6-7) positions … Led USC in singles wins with 39 on the year … Finished the season ranked No. 3 in the ITA singles rankings and held the top spot from Dec., 2021 through Feb., 2022 … In doubles, went 19-10 overall and 12-8 in dual matches … Cayetano and Salma Ewing went 5-0 in doubles (No. 1 position) and reached a season high ranking of No. 62 as a duo … Cayetano and Grace Piper (12-10 overall) reached a season high ranking of #26 (Dec. 8) … After receiving the Pac-12’s automatic bid, Cayetano would make her first NCAA Singles Championship appearance and make a run to the quarterfinals … Clinched two dual matches for the Women of Troy (3/13 against Arizona & 4/5 against CSUN) and defeated 20 ranked opponents during the 2021-22 season … Recipient of the ITA’s Southwest Region Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award … Received All-Pac-12 First Team accolades … Pac-12 Women’s Tennis Player of the week (March 15) after recording six victories (three singles, three doubles) in one weekend … Named to the USTA’s 2022 Collegiate Summer Team … ITF Los Angeles Doubles Champion (Salma Ewing).
