USC's Kaitlyn Dobler Sets Pool Record to Open SMU Classic

Kaitlyn Dobler and Isabelle Odgers record individual event wins to lead USC's Friday night efforts.
USC breaststroke specialists Isabelle Odgers and Kaitlyn Dober each posted wins to lead the Trojans during their first evening of competition at the SMU Classic on Friday, Oct. 7 in Dallas, Texas.
NCAA 100y breaststroke champion Dobler picked up where she left off last season, claiming the event this evening in 59.09. With her time, Dobler set both a pool and meet record, while also posting an NCAA B standard time.
Fifth-year Odgers claimed the 400y I.M. in 4:11.01 to pick up USC's first win of the evening.
Trojan rookie Justina Kozan touched third in the A-final of the 200y freestyle, clocking a 1:48.06. Also appearing in the 200y freestyle was sophomore Marlene Kahler, who touched 12th in 1:48.80.
In the diving well, Stanford graduate transfer Carolina Sculti finished third on 3-meter with 302.50, an NCAA qualifying score.
