USC Swimming Captures Six Events During Home Opener

USC Swimming captured six events on Friday, Oct. 14 to wrap up the first of three sessions at the two-day USC Invitational.
The Women of Troy opened the afternoon with a win in the 400y medley relay, as Hanna Henderson, Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado and Elise Garcia combined for a 3:31.91 to take first.
Trojan rookie Justina Kozan impressed as she claimed the 500y Free in comeback fashion, edging out Auburn's Emily Hetzer to touch first in 4:41.09. Sophomore Marlene Kahler finished third in 4:45.28.
For the second weekend in a row, fifth-year Isabelle Odgers won the 200y IM, this time clocking a 1:56.88.
Sophomore Chris O'Grady led a Trojan sweep in the 200y IM as he touched first in 1:45.85. Harry Homans finished second in 1:47.34, just .40 ahead of teammate Henry Blaul (1:47.74) who touched third.
USC closed out the first afternoon of action with a pair of wins in the 50y free. On the men's side, Artem Selin blasted a 19.70 for first, while Kaitlyn Dobler clocked a 22.30 to take the event for the women.
Action continues tomorrow with the first of two Saturday sessions set to begin at 9 a.m. PT.
