Trojans Drop Series Finale to No. 10 UCLA

LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team fell in the series finale to No. 10 UCLA at home, 13-1, on Sunday afternoon.

The Bruins took two-of-three games on the weekend to move to 15-7 overall and 4-2 in Pac-12 play, while USC falls to 10-9 overall and 4-2 in conference action.

It was all UCLA at Dedeaux Field, with the Bruins scoring 13 runs on 12 hits. Already leading 4-1, the Bruins broke things open with five runs in the fifth and three in the sixth.

The Trojans never had an answer, scoring their lone run on a triple by Ben Ramirez in the second inning. Brady Shockey scored on the play and had both a hit and highlight reel diving catch in the game.

Toby Spach made his USC debut, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings of relief. Jason Starrels threw the final 2.0 innings of the game, giving up one run.

The Trojans head to LMU for a midweek matchup on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. That game will be streamed live on the WCC Network.
