USC Baseball Falls to San Diego at Home, 6-5

LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team held a late lead, but the visiting San Diego Toreros rallied for two runs in the top of the ninth to pick up a 6-5 comeback victory.
USC falls to 9-7 with the loss while San Diego improves to 14-4.
The Trojans jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a John Thomas RBI single and then Tyler Pritchard made it 2-0 with an RBI double in the fourth. After San Diego got on the board in the top of the fifth, Ben Ramirez drove in a run and Garret Guillemette brought home a pair as USC jumped ahead 5-1.
It was all Toreros after that, as they got two runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and then the tying and go-ahead runs in the ninth. USD's Shane McGuire tied the game in the ninth with a double down the line and then scored on a single by Jack Costello.

The Trojans resume conference action this weekend, taking on crosstown rivals UCLA for a three-game series starting on Friday. All three games will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
