USC Libero Cole Paxson Named MPSF Defensive Player of the Week
February 15, 2021 | Men's Volleyball
USC senior libero Cole Paxson was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last week in the unranked Trojan men's volleyball team's 3-1 upset road victory at No. 6 UCLA.
Paxson had a match-best 12 digs against the Bruins, just 1 shy of his career high. It was USC's first win at UCLA since 2014. The Trojans were playing their 2021 season opener after a 2-week delay that saw USC's first 3 matches postponed and practice paused for 10 days due to COVID-19 issues in its program.
Paxson has started 38 times at USC and has 299 career digs. Last spring, he led USC with 136 digs.
