Tough Losses For USC Men's Tennis At ITA National Fall Championships

Stefan Dostanic and Samuel Rubell’s runs in San Diego come to a close.
USC junior Stefan Dostanic started the day with an upset win in the singles Round of 16, but the afternoon did not fare as well for USC at the ITA National Fall Championships.
Ranked #64 in the nation, Dostanic upended Georgia Tech's #31 Andres Martin 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the morning's Round of 16 to earn a spot in the quarterfinals. There, he'd meet Oklahoma State's #20 Matej Vocel, netting the first set in a tiebreaker before Vocel fought back to win it 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-1 to take the place in the semifinals.
In doubles, Dostanic and fellow junior Samuel Rubell took their first loss together this season with a 6-4, 7-6 (9) defeat to Charlotte's Savva/Simon in the evening's doubles Round of 16.
Meanwhile, over at the Jack Kramer Invitational, USC's athletes bowed out in the Round of 32.
