Henry Fusaro Named 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team

USC senior, Henry Fusaro, the 2020 Pac-12 Men's Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year, has been named to the 2020 Academic All-America Division 1 Men's At-Large third team, CoSIDA announced Friday (June 19).
Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.
Fusaro graduated this May as a dual major in Philosophy, Politics and Law and Law, History and Culture, all while boasting an impressive 3.71 G.P.A. He is also a two-time College Swimming and Diving Coaches Associate (CSCAA) Scholar-All-American and a Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team Honoree (2018.) In May, Fusaro earned CSCAA All-American honors for the first time on 1-meter and 3-meter. Most recently, Fusaro was selected as the USC men's recipient of the 2020 Tom Hansen Pac-12 Medal, recognizing two student athletes that exhibit the greatest combination of scholarship, athletics and leadership.
Fusaro, this year's Trojan diving team captain, recorded three wins against USC's Bay Area rivals, giving him seven this season in dual-meet action, including three Pac-12 sweeps (against ASU, Arizona and Stanford) on springboard. This season, he also posted wins on the 1- and 3-meter boards at both the Trojan and Utah Diving Invitationals and was second on both boards at the Bruin Invite. To date, the senior has 22 dual-meet and invitational titles. At the 2020 Pac-12 Men's Diving Championships, Fusaro finished third on men's 3-meter with 404.30.
Swimmer Pawel Furtek, was USC's last men's CoSIDA Academic All-American, earning third-team honors in 2018.
