SAN FRANCISCO – 12 USC lacrosse student-athletes were named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league on Monday, June 8.
Among the Women of Troy chosen for academic laurels were senior defender Natalie Byrne (West Linn, Ore./West Linn HS), senior attacker Emily Concialdi (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown HS), junior goalie Riley Hertford (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego HS), senior attacker Ashley Hill (Novato, Calif./Marin Catholic HS), junior defender Courtney Hutchinson (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton HS), senior attacker Kelly Johansen (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore HS), senior defender Morgan Kuligowski (Great Falls, Va./Langley HS), sophomore midfielder Nicole Macolino (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood HS), senior midfielder Kerrigan Miller (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS), sophomore midfielder Katie Ramsay (Darien, Conn./Darien HS), junior midfielder Emily Stallings (Dallas, Texas/Hockaday School), and senior goalie Hannah Upshaw (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill HS).
A total of 867 student-athletes were recognized for their work in the classroom throughout the conference. Any student-athlete on his or her respective team roster with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible to receive all-academic honors. There is no longer a selection process to determine all-academic teams for each sport. Any student-athlete who qualifies will be named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll during the season in which he/she competes.
The Spring Academic Honor Roll includes student-athletes who participated in the Conference-sponsored sports of baseball, beach volleyball, men's and women's golf, lacrosse, men's and women's rowing, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field.
The Women of Troy were undefeated through six games and ranked No. 7 in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll of 2020, shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. USC had produced a 5-0 mark in home games and was 2-0 in the Pac-12. The Trojans' fifth win of the season was the 100th of eighth-year head coach Lindsey Munday's career. She is 101-42 (.706) all-time with the Women of Troy. USC was the defending Pac-12 regular-season and tournament champion and will have a chance to defend that title in 2021.
