USC Setter Chris Hall Named To 2020 U.S. Men’s Collegiate National Team

USC junior setter Chris Hall has been named to the 16-player 2020 U.S. Men's Collegiate National Team by USA Volleyball.
Hall, a three-year Trojan starter who played in nine early-season matches in the 2020 coronavirus-shortened season before being sidelined with an injury, is among three of the selectees who have competed on U.S. youth and junior national teams in the past (along with Stanford's Jaylen Jasper and Kyler Presho). Hall was on the 2017 USA Volleyball Boys Youth National Team that played in the 2017 FIVB U19 World Championship in Bahrain. He also was the starting setter on the USA Volleyball Boys Youth National Team that won a silver medal at the 2016 NORCECA U19 Continental Championship in Havana, Cuba.
In past years, the U.S. Men's Collegiate National Team has competed in international competitions such as the World University Games and also has held a domestic training camp.
Unfortunately, due to the regional and national responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Men's Collegiate National Team will not be able to train and compete together this summer. However, USA Volleyball still wanted to acknowledge these talented athletes.
The selection process was an open video tryout to all collegiate athletes. They shared links to their game film for review and their VolleyMetrics stats from before the NCAA cancelation were also analyzed.
Others on the 2020 squad besides Hall, Jasper and Presho are: Grand View's Felix Chapman, Menlo College's Chase Direito, Loyola Chicago's Danny Farrell, Pepperdine's Alex Gettinger, Harvard's Chase Howard, Charleston's Will Kimenhour, Belmont Abbey's Andrew Kohut and Liam Maxwell, Stanford's Nathan Lietzke and Will Rottman, Sacred Heart's Timothy McIntosh, Lewis' Tyler Mitchem and Carthage's Matt Slivinski.
