Alissa Pili Scores Spot On Fab 15 Freshman List
April 23, 2020 | Women's Basketball, Features
Another big national honor comes for the Trojan standout.
USC forward Alissa Pili picked up national accolades with her selection as a Fab 15 Freshman by Her Hoop Stats and in conjunction with women's collegiate basketball guru Mel Greenberg. Eligible for the award by virtue of her Pac-12 Freshman of the Year award, Pili was one of 32 freshmen around the nation in consideration for the final Fab 15.
In her debut season with the Trojans, Pili led USC — and all Pac-12 freshmen — in scoring (16.3 ppg), rebounding (8.0 rpg) and double-doubles (11). Also selected by ESPN as the No. 3 freshman in the nation, Pili was the first Pac-12 freshman named to the All-Pac-12 Team since 2017. She became the fifth Trojan to be named conference Freshman of the Year, following in the footsteps of Briana Gilbreath, Tina Thompson, Lisa Leslie and Monique Lamb.
By season's end, Pili was ranked in the nation's top-100 in five statistical categories — final points (504), field-goal percentage (51.1%), double-doubles (11), free throws made (109) and field goals made (190).
