Junior Leon D'Souza completed another strong outing for the Trojans, stringing together three consecutive sub-par rounds this week to take fourth at The Prestige Individual Invitational at the Coral Mountain G.C. in La Quinta, Calif., on Wednesday (Feb. 19).
D'Souza, among three Trojans playing in the event, registered a 10-under 206 (70-66-70), six back of first. The finish was his third top 4 of the season and gives him a team-best 12 rounds under par this season. He also has a team-high eight rounds in the 60s.
He connected on five birdies today and was 1-under on both nines. That followed a second round in which he posted a pair of eagles and birdies en route to a season-best-tying 66. He had five birdies in his first round.
Freshman Tyler Guo tied for 17th at 2-over 218 (80-68-70) while senior Kyle Suppa tied for 22nd in the 33-man field at 5-over 221 (75-73-73). Guo's second round was a season-best.
