Jewett wins men's 800m at Clemson; Brewer sets W-800m record in Washington

Isaiah Jewett won the men's 800m and Earnest Sears III in the men's high jump and the women's 4x400m relay finished second at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C., while Alyssa Brewer set the school indoor 800m record and Kamryn Weber and Chloe Berry posted USC all-time top 10 times in the one-mile race at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. to lead the USC Track and Field team today today (Feb. 15).

At the Tiger Paw Invitational:

Jewett won the men's 800m race with a time of 1:51.74, edging Carlton Orange and Devin Dixon of Texas A&M. Devin Bright had a time of 1:56.16 to finish 24^th.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Bailey Lear, Anna Cockrell, Breanna Bernard-Joseph and Kyra Constantine placed second in its heat and overall with a time of 3:30.23. That time ranks sixth on USC's all-time women's indoor 4x400m relay list.
Earnest Sears III took second in the men's high jump with a clearance of 7-3.25 (2.22m). He had one miss in the competition before going out at 7-4.50 (2.25m).
The men's 4x400m relay team of Nicholas Ramey, Jewett, Eric Allen Jr. and Cameron Samuel took second in its heat and finished fourth overall with a time of 3:08.04. That time moves the quartet to eighth on USC's all-time men's indoor 4x400m list.
Cassidy Palka tied for sixth in the women's high jump with a clearance of 5-8.00 (1.73m). She missed three times at 5-10 (1.78m) which would have been a PR.
Jalyn Jackson had his best jump of 50-11.00 (15.52m) in the third round to place 11^th in the men's triple jump.
Lanae-Tava Thomas won her heat and placed sixth overall in the women's 200m with a time of 23.23. Also in the 200m were TeeTee Terry who won her heat and placed seventh with a time of 23.27, Nicole Yeargin who competed unattached and placed 24^th with a time of 23.85, Mecca McGlaston who finished 30^th with a time of 23.90 and Kenya Payne who finished 81^st with a time of 25.50.
Allen Jr. placed sixth in the men's 200m with a time of 21.06, Brendon Stewart was 17^th with a time of 21.36 and Daniel Robinson was 32^nd with a PR of 21.60.

At the Husky Classic:

Alyssa Brewer set a PR and the USC indoor 800m record with a time of 2:05.68 to take third place, just .35 seconds behind the winner. Brewer's time was .02 seconds faster than the time USC's Michelle Taylor ran in 1990 (2:05.70), the previous school record which had stood for 30 years.
Kamryn Weber had a PR of 4:55.48 to take second in her heat and finish 28^th overall in the women's one-mile race. Finishing third in the heat and 29^th overall was Chloe Berry with a PR of 4:55.83. Weber moved into fourth and Berry fifth on USC's all-time women's indoor one-mile list.
John Dempsey posted a time of 4:21.75 to take 12^th in his men's one-mile heat and finished 55^th overall.
