Evan Mobley Named To NABC Player Of The Year Watch List

Forward one of two freshmen to make the list
USC men's basketball freshman forward Evan Mobley has been named to the 20-player preseason watch list for the 2021 NABC Division I Player of the Year Award, given to the top player in men's college basketball it was announced today (Nov. 23). The 2021 NABC Division I Player of the Year award will be announced during the 2021 AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show, which takes place alongside the NABC Convention and Final Four. Former Dayton standout Obi Toppin won the award last season.
The 7-0 Mobley adds to his preseason honors which also include begin named to the 2021 Naismith Trophy Watch List, the 2021 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award Watch List and being named to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Men's Basketball Preseason Media All-Conference First Team. Â
Mobley was the 2020 Morgan Wooten High School Player of the Year, a McDonald's All-American and a two-time California Gatorade Player of the Year. He signed with USC as the nation's No. 1-ranked recruit, the first time that USC men's basketball landed the top-ranked signee.
Mobley averaged 20.5 points, 12.2 rebounds, 5.2 blocks and 4.6 assists last season as a senior at Rancho Christian School in Temecula, Calif.
He joins his brother, Isaiah, a sophomore on the Trojans. His father, Eric, is an assistant coach at USC.
