USC Lacrosse Picked to Repeat as Pac-12 Champion

The Women of Troy won both the Pac-12 regular-season and tournament titles in 2019
SAN FRANCISCO – The USC lacrosse team received three first-place votes for 27 points and was selected to win the 2020 Pac-12 regular-season title according to a poll of the league's six head coaches as announced by the league on Friday, January 31.
Ranked No. 16 in the IWLCA's (Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association) preseason poll, the Women of Troy are the defending Pac-12 regular-season and tournament champions. USC also owns two MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) championships (2016 and 2017) when it won regular-season and tournament titles in each year.
No. 18 Colorado was picked to finish second with 26 points and two first-place votes. 20th-ranked Stanford came in at third with 25 points and had the only other first-place vote. Each of the top three schools was separated by only one point at each position. Arizona State (16), California (15), and Oregon (11) finished fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively in the coaches' poll.
Women's lacrosse became the 13th women's sport sponsored by the Pac-12 when it was added in 2018. The 2020 Pac-12 championship will be hosted by Stanford and held at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium, April 23-26. The winner of the conference tournament is awarded an automatic berth into the NCAA championship.
No. 16 USC (0-0) opens the season next weekend with a trip to the East Coast to face Hofstra (0-0) in Hempstead, N.Y. First draw is set for 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT) on Saturday (Feb. 8). The game will be streamed live on the Stretch Live platform.

It was USC's third league crown following MPSF championships in 2016 and '17. Head coach Lindsey Munday, a two-time World Champion, was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year and junior Kerrigan Miller was awarded the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year honor for the second season in a row; and was chosen to the IWLCA's All-America second team. USC received its fourth NCAA bid and faced Denver in the first round but fell in a narrow 11-10 overtime decision to the Pioneers.
