Daniel Cukierman and Tanner Smith pick up academic honors from the conference.
The 2019 Pac-12 Champions also have two Trojans on the academic honor roll this season, with Daniel Cukierman and Tanner Smith receiving Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention for their strong cumulative GPAs.
Both Trojans are also bound for NCAA Singles competition next week for the first time in their USC careers. A sophomore Cukierman ranks No. 24 in the nation in singles and has punched his ticket to the NCAA singles draw while carrying a 33-10 overall singles mark. He leads the team in singles wins this season, while also boasting a 3.0 cumulative GPA as a real estate development major. In his first season eligible for the award, Cukierman pockets his first Pac-12 All-Academic accolades to go along with his All-Pac-12 First Team honors this year.
For senior Tanner Smith, this may be his second straight selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention list, but his final year as a Trojan has also seen several firsts. He's also bound for the NCAA Singles tournament for the first time, ranked No. 57 in the nation and holding a 17-6 overall record to date. He also got his first All-Pac-12 accolades with Honorable Mention earned earlier this month. Smith holds a degree in real estate development and a cumulative GPA of 3.14.
Cukierman and Smith were also double teammates for much of the past two seasons. This year, the pair led all Trojan duos with 19 wins, going 19-8 together. That goes along with their 15-4 mark last year, when they rose to a high of No. 40 in the national doubles rankings. Overall, Cukierman and Smith went 34-12 as a doubles pair at USC.
