USC Women’s Tennis Takes on Pepperdine, Then Travels North To Washington

THIS WEEK
The No. 13 ranked USC women's tennis team has yet another full week of competition. The Trojans will take to Marks Stadium on Tuesday (April 9) to challenge No. 8 Pepperdine. Then, they will hit the road and travel north to play Washington in Seattle on Friday (April 12) at 1:30 p.m. PT and then to Pullman, Wa. to face Washington State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
ORACLE/ITA RANKINGS UPDATES
In the most recent ITA team rankings (April 9), the Women of Troy fell two places to No. 13.
The ITA also released new singles and doubles rankings on April 9
Freshman Salma Ewing remains USC's highest ranked singles player. She fell three spots to No. 46 in the nation. Junior Angela Kulikov fell to No. 95 after previously holding the No. 87 position.
In doubles, the duo of Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes improved four spots to the No. 10 ranked pair in the country.
SCOUTING PEPPERDINE
No. 8 ranked Pepperdine is 14-3 overall on the season and 5-0 in West Coast Conference play. They currently have three ranked singles players: No. 43 Ashley Lahey, No. 57 Jessica Failla and No. 84 Adrijana Lekaj. In doubles, they have one ranked pair: No. 31 Iamachkine/Failla. Over the weekend, the Waves swept both Gonzaga and Portland 4-0.
SCOUTING WASHINGTON
The No. 15 ranked Washington Huskies are 16-2 on the season and 6-1 in Pac-12 Conference play. Over the weekend, the Huskies defeated Cal 4-3, but lost to Stanford 4-0. They have one ranked singles player in No. 98 Stacey Fung. In addition, they also have a ranked doubles pair in No. 26 Fung/Zupancic.
SCOUTING WASHINGTON STATE
The No. 42 ranked Washington State Cougars are 17-7 overall on the season and are 2-5 in Pac-12 Conference play. They have one ranked singles player in No. 52 Michaela Bayerlova. Over the weekend, the Cougars lost to both Cal and Stanford.
