USC's Chanel Brissett was named the Pac-12 Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 1-7, it was announced by the Conference today (April 9).

The sophomore Brissett won the 100m hurdles at the Jim Click Shootout with an NCAA and world-leading time of 12.87 (+0.1).  The reigning Pac-12 hurdles champion also ran a wind-legal personal-best of 11.65 (+0.7) in the 100m dash to place fifth in that event at the Jim Click Shootout.

This is the first Pac-12 weekly honor for Brissett, who is on the 2019 Bowerman post indoor watch list.  A USC women's track athlete has earned the Pac-12 Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor three of the four weeks it has been presented this season.

USC's Athletes of the Week during the 2019 season have been: Alyssa Brewer (W-Track: March 26), Chanel Brissett (W-Track: April 9), Matthew Katnik (M-Field: March 19 and March 26), TeeTee Terry (W-Track: March 19)
