Bayley Weber Earns Third MPSF Newcomer of the Week Honor

Freshman punched up two goals in USC’s win over ASU last weekend.

Freshman Bayley Weber scored two goals on two shots taken and had a steal in USC's 17-3 win over No. 10 Arizona State. For her solid efforts in a key Trojan victory, Weber has snagged her third selection as the MPSF Newcomer of the Week.

Weber's first goal came in a six-goal USC surge to lead it 8-1 by halftime, and her second came just before the close of the third as USC took a 14-2 lead into the final frame, where Weber also earned an exclusion on the way to USC's final 17-3 victory.

Weber has scored 27 goals in her freshman campaign to date and has earned an MPSF Newcomer of the Week award in each of the past three months. Weber and the Trojans wrap the regular season this weekend with a visit to Westwood, where USC (22-1) will take on UCLA at 4 p.m. on Saturday (April 20) to decide the No. 2 seed into the coming MPSF Tournament.
