The Women of Troy got two hat tricks on offense but fell short against the Seawolves
STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The No. 13-ranked USC lacrosse team (13-3) dropped a hard-fought 12-10 decision to No. 20 Stony Brook (10-4) at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday, April 14.

- Sophomore midfielder Kelsey Huff scored three goals to collect her 13th-career hat trick and moves into a sixth-place tie for career hat tricks at USC with junior midfielder Kerrigan Miller.
- Miller had six draw controls, five ground balls, and five caused turnovers to go with an assist.
- Senior attacker Emily Concialdi scored all three of her goals from free position to record her sixth-career hat trick.
- Senior defender Jackie Gilbert won five draw controls and caused one turnover.
- For the Seawolves, Ally Kennedy scored five goals and won five draw controls. Siobhan Rafferty scored three goals for the second Stony Brook hat trick. Sara Moeller dished out four assists and Taryn Ohlmiller came off the bench for three assists and a goal. In goal, Anna Tesoriero had 11 saves and picked up two ground balls.
- It took Stony Brook 24 seconds to score the game's first goal and under five minutes to run ahead for a 4-0 lead. All four of the Seawolves goals came from assists by Moeller in the opening minutes.
- The Trojans settled into defense and slowed the game down but Rafferty and Kennedy scored goals to make it 6-1 for Stony Brook with 10:40 to play in the first half.
- Concialdi scored her second free-position goal at 8:05 and got the Trojans running on a 5-0 burst to end the half tied, six-all.
- Huff scored the first goal of the second half to make it a 6-0 run and gave USC its first lead of the game, but Stony Brook scored a 4-0 run in a six-minute span from 24:26 to 18:27 to take a 10-7 lead.
- The Trojans trimmed the lead to one goal at 10-9 with goals from Concialdi and Sophia Donovan with 10:02 left to play.
- The teams went back and forth but Stony Brook stepped in front by two at 11-9 on Ohlmiller's goal at 2:45. Huff scored her third at 2:01 to make it a one-goal game again, but Kennedy sealed the victory for the Seawolves on her goal at 1:43.
- USC concludes the regular season with an opportunity to seize the Pac-12's regular-season title and claim the conference tournament's top seed with a meeting against Arizona State (5-10, 2-7 Pac-12) on Saturday, April 20, at McAlister Field. The Trojans and the Sun Devils meet at 2 p.m. PT for USC's Senior Day game.
- USC fell to 1-4 all-time against Stony Brook and has lost the last three meetings against the Seawolves.
- The Trojans fell to 13-14 in 27 all-time games played on the East Coast (EST).
- Stony Brook's 12-goal output matches the second-highest against the Trojans this spring. San Diego State scored 16 and top-ranked Boston College also scored 12.
