The No. 1 USC women's golf team's entire lineup shot par or better, propelling the Trojans to a one-stroke, come-from-behind victory as Troy erased a nine-stroke deficit for the team's fifth title this year at the PING/ASU Invitational on Sunday (March 31) at the Papago G.C.
 
The Trojans, 4-over after 36 holes, threw down a 9-under final round (293-287-279) to finish at 5-under 859, one better than host Arizona State.
 
The Sun Devils led by four strokes late in the day, but USC finished its final five holes at 5-under, punctuated by sophomore Alyaa Abdulghany's 25-foot birdie on 18 that clinched the win for the Trojans.
 
USC's fifth win matches last season's tally and is the sixth time in the last seven seasons USC has won at least five tournaments.
 
Sophomore Jennifer Chang was USC's highest finisher on the day, tying for fourth at 6-under 210 (72-66-72), one back of a three-way tie for first. While she just missed out on her second co-medalist nod in a row, she did secure her third top 4 in the last four outings and her seventh top 11 of the season.
 
Junior Allisen Corpuz, playing individually, matched her teammates' success in the desert and finished a season-best seventh at 4-under 212 (71-71-70) with three final-round birdies.
 
Abdulghany's final putt moved her into a tie for 13^th at 1-under 215 (74-71-70) and was one of two birdies on the round without a bogey. She notched her third top 13 finish in a row and her fifth on the season.
 
Freshman Malia Nam tied for 20^th at 1-over 217 (73-75-69), her final round leading USC today thanks to four birdies, including on 14 and 15. She now has a season-best six rounds in the 60s for USC this year.
 
Sophomore Amelia Garvey tied for 26^th at 3-over 219 (74-75-70), sinking birdies on 9 and 15 to go along with 16 pars. Sophomore Gabriela Ruffels tied for 32^nd at 5-over 221 (76-75-70), the fifth Trojan under par today.
 
Abdulghany, Chang and Corpuz will all compete in this week's Augusta National Women's Amateur while the Trojans play in next week's Silverado Showdown, April 7-9, to complete the regular season before hosting Pac-12 Championships April 15-17.
