USC Takes Second At The Goodwin, Sixth Top 2 Finish On Season

Onishi ties for third, Suh final-round 67 moves him into top 15.
Sophomore Kaito Onishi tied for third overall while senior Justin Suh used a final-round 67 to get into the top 15 to lead the No. 6 USC men's golf team on the final day of The Goodwin at the Stanford G.C. on Saturday (March 30).
USC took second at 10-over 850 (286-279-285) for its sixth top 2 finish of the season, three of them wins. Host Stanford won at 8-under 832 (279-279-274).
Onishi posted his fourth top 10 this season by tying for third at 2-under 208 (69-66-73). He led for much of the final round before a bogey on 9 and a double on 10, finishing the final eight holes with pars.
Suh had rare slow start to the tournament and was 6-over after 36 holes before rallying Saturday with a 3-under to tie for 14th at 3-over 213 (75-71-67). It was his 15th round in the 60s this season and he now has eight top 15 finishes in as many starts this season.
Sophomore Issei Tanabe tied for 29th at 5-over 215 (70-75-70). Today's final round was his fifth of par or better in his last seven rounds.
Senior Sam Kim tied for 40th at 7-over 217 (72-69-76) and junior Kyle Suppa tied for 90th at 15-over 225 (77-73-75).
