Boatwright Named To NABC District 20 Second Team

USC senior forward Bennie Boatwright was named to the 2018-19 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 20 second team it was announced today (March 21).

The 6-10 Boatwright from Mission Hills, Calif. averaged 18.2 points and 6.6 rebounds in 31 games for the Trojans. Boatwright ranked third in scoring, 11th in rebounding, second in three-pointers made (90), fourth in three-point field goal percentage (42.9 percent) and seventh in defensive rebounds per game (5.2) among Pac-12 players.

Boatwright set a USC record and tied a Pac-12 record when he sank 10 three-point baskets at California on Feb. 16, tying the mark for most three-pointers in a game done three other times. Boatwright made 243 career three-point baskets which is second on USC's all-time list, just two behind school record-holder Elijah Stewart (245). Boatwright also scored 1,542 career points which ranks sixth on USC's all-time scoring list.

Boatwright's 18.2 scoring average was the highest in a season by a Trojan since O.J. Mayo averaged 20.7 in 2008 (player participation later vacated due to NCAA penalty. Previous player averaging more points per game was Desmon Farmer - 19.4 in 2004). Boatwright's 564 points scored in 2018-19 were the 11th most in a single season by a Trojan and most since Nikola Vucevic scored 582 in 2011.
