Emily Concialdi Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

The Trojans’ senior attacker scored eight goals to help USC collect two victories this week
SAN FRANCISCO – USC lacrosse senior attacker Emily Concialdi (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was chosen as the Pac-12's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 25. It is the first-career award for the Trojans' captain, who received the program's fifth all-time conference weekly honor. Stanford sophomore goalie Trudie Grattan was chosen for the defensive award.
Concialdi recorded back-to-back hat trick games and tallied eight goals in the Trojans' victories over San Diego State (20-16) and Jacksonville (15-10). She also dished out one assist for a total of nine points on the weekend and posted a 90.9 shot-on-goal percentage. Against the Aztecs, Concialdi set a new a career high with five goals and collected her second game-winning goal of the season. In the process, she became the 11th Trojan to score at least five goals in a single game.
For the weekend, Concialdi was 3-for-3 from free position and also had a ground ball and one draw control. Through three weeks, Concialdi leads the Pac-12 in goals per game (3.33 gpg), free-position goals (1.33 fpgpg), and game-winning goals (2); and ranks second in points (4.00 ppg).
The Pac-12 is in its second season of women's lacrosse. Trojans have now earned conference weekly honors five times. All-league goalie Gussie Johns was chosen twice for defensive player of the week in 2018; and All-Americans Lydia Sutton and Kerrigan Miller (currently a junior midfielder) each received weekly awards once each.
The 24th-ranked Women of Troy (3-0) are the only remaining undefeated squad in the Pac-12. USC faces a tough test this week with a cross-country trip to Boston to take on No. 1-ranked Boston College (4-0) on Friday (March 1) at 3 p.m. ET (noon PT) and Boston University (2-1) on Sunday (March 3) at noon ET (9 a.m. PT).
