Matt Douglas Named MPSF Defensive Player Of The Week

USC senior libero Matt Douglas was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week for his effort in the Trojans' sweep over Grand Canyon last week.

Douglas had a team-high 10 digs in the match. He also had 5 assists and did not have a reception error in 11 attempts.

Douglas is the second Trojan honored with MPSF Player of the Week honors in 2019. Opposite hitter Ryan Moss was the league's Offensive honoree on Jan. 28.

No. 14-ranked USC plays its first MPSF road matches of 2019 this week when it travels to No. 9 Stanford for a Valentine's Day encounter on Thursday (Feb. 14) at 7 p.m. PT and then visits No. 8 BYU on Saturday (Feb. 16) at 7 p.m. MT looking for its first win in Provo since 1996. The Stanford match will air live on Pac-12 Network.
