Rakocevic Named To Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List

46 players are the early front-runners for the National Player of the Year
USC senior forward Nick Rakocevic is one of 46 athletes named to the initial 2020 Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List, it was announced by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) today (Dec. 5). The 46 student-athletes on the watch list are early front-runners for NCAA Men's Basketball National Player of the Year.
The 6-11 Rakocevic is averaging 12.1 points and 8.1 rebounds in USC's first nine games this season. He currently ranks fifth among Pac-12 players in rebounds per game, third in offensive rebounds per game (3.11), fifth in steals per game (2.0) and tied for seventh in total blocked shots (9). The Chicago, Ill. native has had three double-doubles this season to push his career total to 23, tied for 16th among all active players.
Rakocevic surpassed the 1,000 career points scored mark in the game vs. South Dakota State on Nov. 12 and now has scored 1,074 career points which ranks 36th on USC's all-time scoring list. He also has 738 career rebounds which ranks 12th on USC's all-time list and 12th among all active NCAA players.
The 2019-20 Oscar Robertson Trophy will be presented at the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta in April. The winner will also be honored at the annual USBWA Awards Luncheon at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo. on April 13, 2020.
Rakocevic has previously been named to the Wooden Award Watch List and the Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List.
