Trojans to Compete at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships

This weekend the Women of Troy will begin their campaign at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. This tournament, held at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., brings together the nation's top Division I women's tennis players to compete. Prequalifying rounds will begin on Sept. 29, while the Qualifying matches are set for Oct. 2-3 and the main draw will run from Oct. 4 through Oct. 7.
In the singles competition, junior Becca Weissmann and freshman Salma Ewing, the No. 5 ranked freshman/newcomer in the country, will begin competition in the Prequalifying rounds on Sept. 29. Senior No. 74 Rianna Valdes will start playing on Oct. 2 in the Qualifying rounds. In the doubles portion of the competition, the No. 27 ranked duo of Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes play in the Qualifying rounds on Oct. 2.
In addition to playing to win the tournament title, players will be competing to secure a berth to the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 7-11, in Surprise, Arizona. The singles quarterfinalists, consolation singles champion and finalist, along with doubles semifinalists and consolation doubles champion and finalist will advance to the later rounds of the Fall National Championship.
