The USC women's tennis team is ready to kick off its 2018-19 campaign. The Women of Troy have four team members earning national preseason rankings.
Freshman Salma Ewing begins her Trojan career ranked as the No. 5 freshman/newcomer in the nation.
USC's sole senior Rianna Valdes begins the fall tournament season ranked No. 74, while Valdes and her doubles partner junior Angela Kulikov locked in the No. 27 doubles ranking.
The Women of Troy begin their second season under head coach Alison Swain.
This weekend, USC will open fall tournament competition. Ewing will play in the Oracle ITA Masters Tournament where she will compete in the Mixed Doubles portion of the competition with USC men's player Daniel Cukierman. Their first match begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow (Sept. 20) at Pepperdine. She will also participate in the Women's Singles draw where will take on Maria Kononova in the Round of 32 tomorrow morning (Sept. 20) at 10 a.m. at the Malibu Racquet Club.
Junior Constance Branstine, sophomore Ana Neffa and freshman Danielle Willson will travel to San Francisco where they will compete in the Battle in the Bay Classic beginning on Friday (Sept. 21).
