Sam Lewis Named To U.S. Junior National Team For NORCECA U21 Continental Championship

USC sophomore middle blocker Sam Lewis has been named to the 12-player U.S. Men's Junior National Team that will compete Aug. 27-Sept. 2 at the NORCECA Men's U21 Continental Championship in Havana, Cuba.
The winner of the Continental Championship will qualify for the 2019 FIVB U21 World Championship.
The U.S. team begins pool play with matches against Guatemala (Aug. 27) and the Dominican Republic (Aug. 29). Other countries competing are Cuba, Canada, Nicaragua, Haiti, Mexico and Barbados. The U.S. is the defending champion, having won the most recent title in 2016.
Lewis also played on the 2017 Boys' Youth National Team that competed at the FIVB U19 World Championship after winning a silver medal at the NORCECA Continental Championship.
The 6-10 Lewis made the 2018 MPSF All-Freshman team while hitting .334 for the Trojans, plus he had a team-best 87 blocks along with 152 kills.
