Pawel Furtek Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Honors

Second straight distinction for graduating senior.
Senior Pawel Furtek, the 2018 Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year, has been named to CoSIDA's 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's team for District 8, it was announced earlier this month.
Furtek has now advanced to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June. This is Furtek's second straight season earning All-District distinction.
Furtek, earlier this spring, earned his third straight Pac-12 All-Academic first team honor with a 3.92 GPA in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. He graduated earlier this month and will begin his professional career working at Google.
Furtek was a consistent contributor for the Trojans over the course of his career. The Polish National Team member from Wroclaw, Poland, recorded five career top-six finishes at the Pac-12 Championships and made two trips to the NCAA Championships, earning honorable mention All-America status in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 2016. The distance freestyler is among USC's all-time top 10 in the 1,000- and 1,650-yard free.
He is a three-time CSCAA Scholar All-American with first-team laurels in 2016 and honorable mention recognition in 2015 and 2017 and is eligible again for the honor this year.
