No. 21 Trojans Dominate Devils in 19-2 Victory

The Women of Troy closed the regular season with a road win over Arizona State
TEMPE, Ariz. – The 21st-ranked USC lacrosse team (9-7, 6-4 Pac-12) concluded the regular season on a 19-2 win over Arizona State (6-11, 1-9) at Sun Devil Lacrosse/Soccer Stadium on Saturday, April 21. The victory sets the Women of Troy up with an immediate rematch against ASU in the first round of the inaugural Pac-12 tournament.

- Junior defender Jackie Gilbert set a new career high with 12 draw controls and scored her first goal since she had two in a game during freshman season (2016).
- Sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller posted her fifth hat trick of the season (11th career) and finished with three goals, two assists, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
- Freshman midfielder Kelsey Huff scored three goals for her fifth-career hat trick and added two assists.
- Senior defender Lydia Sutton led all players with five ground balls and caused one turnover.
- For Arizona State, Kerri Clayton scored both goals.
- USC built a 3-0 lead, but the Devils responded with the first of Clayton's two goals.
- The Trojans held Arizona State scoreless for over 35 minutes during a 15-0 run between 20:53 in the first half and 12:43 in the second half, to go in front, 18-2.
- The teams traded goals one last time before time ran out on the Sun Devils.
- USC enters the first-ever Pac-12 tournament as the third seed and will face sixth-seeded ASU in the first round on Thursday, April 26, at 4 p.m. MT (3 p.m. PT) on Prentup Field in Boulder, Colo. The game will be shown live on Pac-12 Networks' distribution channels. The Trojans will need to defeat the Devils for a third time to get a shot at No. 2-seeded Stanford (13-4, 8-2 Pac-12) in the semifinals set for Friday, April 27.
- USC improved to 2-0 all-time against Arizona State and won its first-ever game played in the state of Arizona.
- The Trojans collected a season-high 18 draw controls led by junior D Jackie Gilbert who set a single-game season high with 12 draw wins. The 12 are a new career high for Gilbert as she moves into third in USC career history with 87 draw controls.
- So. M Kerrigan Miller had five points (3g, 2a) and moved into a sixth-place tie with Gabby McMahon (2014-17) for career points (97). Miller's three goals gave her the 11th hat trick of her career (fifth this season).
- So. M Kaeli Huff scored two goals and moved into ninth place at USC for career points (61).
- Fr. M Kelsey Huff scored her fifth-career hat trick with three goals on the day.
