No. 4 USC Sweeps Oregon to Conclude Pac-12 North Invitational

The Trojans finished the weekend with a 3-1 mark on Alki Beach sand
SEATTLE – The fourth-ranked USC beach volleyball team (20-10) swept Oregon (2-8) to conclude the Pac-12 North Invitational at Alki Beach on Sunday, April 15.
The Women of Troy finished the weekend with a 3-1 mark and put three pairs on the all-tournament team including the top duo of junior Abril Bustamante and freshman Tina Graudina, which went 4-0 overall. At the No. 3 position, senior Terese Cannon and freshman Sammy Slater also went 4-0 and were selected to the all-tournament team. All-tourney honors at the fourth position went to USC's duo of freshman Haley Hallgren and senior Alexandra Poletto, which went 3-1 in matches.
The Trojans scored the first point of the dual from the fifth position. There, senior Jenna Belton and freshman Maja Kaiser paired for the first time and earned a 21-7, 21-9 win over Marine Hall-Poirier and Kyra Hanawahine. On the other end of the lineup, Bustamante and Graudina took out August Raskie and Lindsey Vander Weide, 21-10, 21-11, for a second dual point.
Cannon and Slater grounded the Ducks with their 21-7, 21-18 win over Willow Johnson and Lauren Page at court three. It was the Trojan duo's 19th win together this season. USC added a fourth point with a win at court four as Hallgren and Poletto collected a 21-15, 21-14 win over Maggie Scott and Ronika Stone. The sweep went into the books as sophomores Joy Dennis and Cammie Dorn finished off Taylor Agost and Josie Cole, 21-14, 21-18, at the No. 2 position.
USC returns to home sand to host No. 15 Grand Canyon (11-14) and No. 6 Long Beach State (22-4) on Tuesday, April 17. The Lopes and 49ers will meet first at 2 p.m. PT on Merle Norman Stadium sand. USC then faces LBSU at 4 p.m. with Senior Day pre-match festivities set for 3:50 p.m. The Trojans conclude their home schedule against GCU at 6 p.m.
