April 15, 2018 | Baseball, Features
LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team dropped its series finale to Arizona at home on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-2 to the Wildcats.
The Trojans came back and tied things up in the sixth inning, but couldn't complete the rally after giving up two runs in the seventh. USC falls to 17-14 overall and 6-9 in Pac-12 play, while Arizona moves to 22-12 overall and 6-6 in conference action.
After the Wildcats scored on a two-run single from Cal Stevenson in the fourth, USC came up with two runs in the sixth thanks to an RBI single by Lars Nootbaar and sacrifice fly by Dillon Paulson. A wild pitch and sacrifice fly in the next half inning would put Arizona back in front for good.
