The Women of Troy had three players score hat tricks in a three-goal loss to the Cardinal
LOS ANGELES – The 15th-ranked USC lacrosse team (7-5, 5-2 Pac-12) dropped a hard-fought 14-11 decision to No. 16 Stanford (9-3, 6-1) at McAlister Field on Easter Sunday, April 1. The victory thrusts the Cardinal into first place in the Pac-12 standings.

- Sophomore attacker Izzy McMahon scored four goals to lead the Trojans; two from free position.
- Sophomore midfielder Kaeli Huff scored her fifth-career hat trick (second of the season) and finished the day with four ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Junior attacker Emily Concialdi scored a career-best five points and produced the second hat trick of her career. She also dished out her first two assists of her career.
- Defensively, sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller had three ground balls and two caused turnovers. She also snagged five draw controls. Senior defender Lydia Sutton had four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Junior Jackie Gilbert had two ground balls and a three caused turnovers. Senior Gussie Johns had 13 saves and five ground balls.
- The Cardinal had five multiple-goal scorers, led by Ali Baiocco who had four goals and two assists for six points. Genesis Lucero led all players with eight draw controls.
- USC led, 7-6, at halftime; and claimed the game's first two-goal lead at 10-8 with 21:27 left to play in regulation.
- Stanford's Areta Buness, Galen Lew, and Kelsey Murray scored three goals within the span of 1:15 to push the Cardinal ahead, 11-10, with 15 minutes to play.
- McMahon scored her fourth goal with seven minutes remaining in the game to pull the Trojans within a goal at 12-11, but Stanford stood fast to complete a 6-1 run to close the game for a 14-11 win.
- USC takes to the road to meet No. 16 Colorado (7-4, 4-1 Pac-12) in Boulder, Colo., on Friday (April 6) and then heads north for a game against Oregon (6-5, 2-3) in Eugene, Ore., on Sunday (April 8). The Trojans needed overtime against both foes to get wins when they visited McAlister Field earlier this season.
- USC fell to 5-5 in 10 all-time meetings with Stanford.
- The Cardinal played for the first time at McAlister Field. Stanford's three previous games against the Trojans in LA were played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum where USC is 3-0 against the Cardinal.
- The Trojans fell to 34-10 in all-time games played at McAlister Field and 38-12 in all-time home games.
- USC dropped to 15-24 in all-time games against ranked opponents.
- Sr. G Gussie Johns had the 11th double-digit saves game of her career with a season-high 13 stops.
- Jr. M Emily Concialdi had a career-high five points and registered the first two assists of her career. It was Concialdi's second-career hat trick game (three total goals).
- So. A Izzy McMahon notched her third hat trick of the season and matched her career-high with four goals.
- So. M Kaeli Huff posted her second hat trick of the season; the fifth of her career.
