USC is 13-5 all-time against Cal Poly and last met the Mustangs in 2012. Each of USC's last four meetings with Cal Poly have been at home and have resulted in 3-0 sweeps for the Women of Troy.
Pac-12 champion Stanford (28-1) received the No. 1 overall seed. Big Ten champion Minnesota (25-3) is the No. 2 overall seed. The Trojans are in the Champaign Regional where Illinois (28-3) is the No. 3 seed. WCC champion BYU (27-1) holds the No. 4 seed. On the other side of USC's portion of the bracket, No. 6 seed Wisconsin (22-6) hosts Green Bay (20-10), UNI (24-9), and Pepperdine (21-8).
USC is one of eight Pac-12 teams in the tournament and one of four to receive berthing seeds. Besides Stanford, Oregon (20-10) and Washington State (21-9) hold seeds at No. 15 and 16 respectively. The other four at-large Pac-12 selections were Washington (18-12), Utah (18-13), Colorado (18-13), and Arizona (22-10).
The 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will be held at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The national semifinals will be played Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CT. The national championship match will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. CT.
The Trojans hold a 125-39 (.762) all-time postseason record and are 79-32 (.712) in the NCAA tournament. USC is the winner of six national championships including the first-ever NCAA title awarded in 1981. USC has appeared in all but two of the NCAA's 38 annual championships tournaments (1986, 1990).
Since the NCAA expanded to a field of 64 teams in 1998, the Women of Troy have advanced to 12 regional championship matches, seven national semifinals (final four), and two national finals (both victories). Last year, the Women of Troy received the No. 10 seed and advanced to the Gainesville regional final where it fell to site host and eventual national runner-up Florida in five sets.
First-year head coach Brent Crouch has guided the Women of Troy to a 21-10 overall record and a second-place tie in the Pac-12 (13-7).
