Moore Named USC Men's Basketball Radio Play-By-Play Announcer
October 08, 2018 | Men's Basketball, Features
Jordan Moore, the radio sideline analyst for USC men's basketball for the past 4 seasons (2015-18), has been named the play-by-play announcer for Trojan men's basketball on ESPNLA 710 Radio, USC athletic director Lynn Swann said today (Oct. 8).
Â
Moore replaces Chris Fisher, who last month was named the TV play-by-play announcer for the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder after spending the past 8 seasons (2011-18) as the USC men's basketball play-by-play voice.
Â
"Jordan Moore has been an integral part of our radio broadcast team and he has flourished in his various roles," said Andre Riley, vice president and general manager of USC Sports Properties. "Moving into the men's basketball play-by-play announcer spot is a natural evolution for him. His breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise around our men's basketball program, along with his excellent storytelling capabilities, will make our radio broadcasts that much more enjoyable and engaging, and will provide tremendous perspective to our fans and listeners."
Â
Said Moore:Â "I could not be happier to take over play-by-play duties for USC men's basketball from my friend Chris Fisher. I want to thank Lynn Swann and the USC Athletics administration as well as Andre Riley and USC Sports Properties for giving me this opportunity. I believe strongly in the future of the USC men's basketball program under the direction of head coach Andy Enfield, and I am honored to go on this journey with them."
Â
USC will add guest analysts to the men's basketball broadcasts on select games during the season.
Â
Since 2013, Moore also has been USC football's pre-game show host and in-game sideline reporter, as well as the co-host of the weekly "Trojans Live" radio show, on ESPNLA 710.
Â
The 35-year-old Moore, a 2005 graduate of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, called minor league baseball and high school football and basketball on Southern California over-the-air and online broadcast outlets for 4 years (2006-09) before returning to his alma mater in 2010 as USC Athletics' director of social media, a position in which he will continue.
Â
Moore and his wife, fellow USC alum Samantha Tulin, have a 4-year-old son, Bailey, and a newborn daughter, Kalia.
Â
The USC men's basketball team opens its 2019 season by hosting Robert Morris at 8 p.m. on Nov. 6 in the Galen Center. For tickets, go to USCTrojans.com/tickets.
