October 25, 2018 | Women's Soccer, Features
BOULDER, Colo. – The No. 2 USC women's soccer team picked up its 12th shutout of the year and got a goal from senior Leah Pruitt to beat No. 20 Colorado for a big Pac-12 road win.
The Trojans move to 15-1-1 overall and 8-1-0 in Pac-12 play, while Colorado falls to 13-2-3, 5-2-2.
The USC defense was suffocating for most of the afternoon and then dodged a bullet in the final seconds as a Buffalo shot went off the post and rolled back to keeper Kaylie Collins, who was there to pounce on it as time expired.
Pruitt capitalized on a rebound in the 25th minute after Penelope Hocking narrowly missed a goal thanks to a quick save by Colorado keeper Jalen Tompkins. The ball fell to a charging Pruitt, who didn't miss from point-blank range.
