Brandon Holt Represents Team USA At Master’U BNP Paribas

Trojan sophomore taveled to France for competition alongside the USA’s top collegiate players.
USC sophomore Brandon Holt is back on U.S. soil after traveling to France as a member of the USA's team at the Master'U BNP Paribas International Collegiate Team Competition, which ran Nov. 30-Dec. 6 in Marcq-en-Baroeul, France. Selected as one of the USA's top collegiate players, Holt joined the six-player roster and helped the USA reach the final at the event.
Holt teamed up with UCLA's Martin Redlicki for doubles action, going 2-1 with the Bruin to help the USA's cause. In singles, Holt went 1-1 at the No. 1 singles position, taking a tough three-set loss in a tiebreaker in the final against Great Britain. The American squad beat host France 5-2 in the opening round before topping Germany 4-2 in the semifinals to secure a spot in the final. Team USA would come up short of a seventh straight title with a 4-2 loss to Grat Britain.
Holt beat France's top singles player 6-2, 6-4 in the opening match before posting a 6-3, 6-3 win with Redlicki in doubles. Against Germany, Holt played only doubles, teaming up with Redlicki for a 6-2, 6-4 win there. In the final, Holt was edged out in singles, and he and Redlicki would fall in doubles.
In addition to Holt, the 2017 USA team combined the American forces of UCLA sophomore Ena Shibahara, Pepperdine sophomore Ashley Lahey, UNC freshman Alle Sanford, Florida junior Alfredo Perez and UCLA senior Martin Redlicki.
