SAN DIEGO - Over the weekend, the Women of Troy traveled to San Diego to compete in the San Diego Fall Classic in Mission Bay - Crown Point where they proved to be the strongest competitors on the water. The Trojans entered four boats in the Women's Open 4+ and captured the first four place finishes out of a field of 17 boats. USC was the only university to sweep the first four places in any event in the regatta. 

"It was a really fun trip down to San Diego this Sunday," said head coach Josh Adam. "The racing offered a great capstone to the fall season. We want to thank the San Diego Fall Classic for a great regatta, all the parents who came out and all the supporters on the shoreline. The Women's Open Novice 8+ win provided a great opportunity for a few of our freshman and walk-ons to get some quality race experience. Achieving first, second, third and fourth in the Women's Open 4+ was a great step forward as well. The closeness of race times in those four boats reflected the technical work we have been working on for the last two weeks."

USC's Boat B placed first with a time of 17:52.166, while Boats A, C and D finished second, third and fourth with times of 17:55.934, 18:16.254 and 18:17.400, respectively. 

The Women of Troy also competed in the Women's Open Novice 8+ and beat out seven other boats to win the race with a time of 18:32.910.

The Trojans will have a break in their action until their spring season begins on March 3, 2017, when they travel to Las Vegas where they will scrimmage against Washington.
