Trojan Pair Jaede/Smith Falls In ITA Regional Semis

USC duo takes top seeds down the wire in Malibu.
MALIBU, CALIF. — The lone soldiers for USC out at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships in Malibu, Trojans Jack Jaede and Tanner Smith fell in the semifinals of today's doubles action.
The No. 6 seeded USC pair was up against the top-seeded team in the doubles draw today, having secured a semifinal spot with a tight tiebreak win in yesterday's quarterfinals. In the semis, USC's Jack Jaede and Tanner Smith lined up against ASU's Hannestad/Reuhl to decide a place in tomorrow's title match. The Trojans held their ground to take the first set in a tiebreaker, but got down a break in the second to bring up a 10-point tiebreaker to decide things. The Sun Devil pair was able to fend off the Trojans, winning it 6-7 (4), 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) to end USC's run at the event in Malibu.
