Opening statement:
"I hope everybody in the central and eastern time zone stayed up because that was a special, special match. You got to tip your hat to USC and the unbelievable year they had. Coming off of a year, I know coach Haley was disappointed last year, but his team, the situation, to be ranked number one most of the year. Congratulations go out to them. I've never ever been around a team that first of all, even up 2-0 in the third set kept fighting. Fought the fourth set. Obviously you guys saw the 13-9 deficit, a resilient bunch. I am very proud to say that I am a part of this Jayhawk volleyball program after witnessing what I just saw."

How do you feel after this win?
"We don't have words. We got a little discombobulated the third and fourth set and I don't think we were playing our game. I don't think we were really clicking together. We really felt it that fifth set, I'm sure they did too, it just felt like we weren't giving up. We know we've fought all season for a moment like this."

How did you come back from being down 13-9 in the fifth set?
"I think we pride ourselves on that team chemistry, that competitive chemistry. You look back at our entire season and there were a lot of games that we were down four or five points and if we can just control it one ball at a time and believe in each other, we all looked each other in the eyes and said this isn't going to happen and we took it one ball at a time. It's pretty awesome."
USC HEAD COCH Mick Haley
Opening statement:
"We're proud of this team, for the season we've had and the way they've represented the university. I told the team that I though they fought like Trojans and I really meant that. We weren't good tonight but we competed and we did everything we could to win. We came up short in the end. I have no answers for that so you'll have to write what you saw. I guess that will be the way that it will be."

What sparked the run you had in the third and fourth set?
"I think we got a little bit more comfortable after the first two sets. It took a while. I think we just got comfortable."
What impressed you about Knasas?
"I think they play really well. They were a really, really good team."

What sparked the run you had in the third and fourth set?
"We didn't want the season to end on a 3-0 loss. We wanted to compete."
How much fun was this team?
"This is hands-down my favorite team I've ever been on. I'm really sad that it's over.
