USC Men's Volleyball Hosts Canadian Power Alberta In Exhibition

The 2015 USC men's volleyball team will host Alberta, Canada's top-ranked collegiate team and defending national champion, in an exhibition match on Wednesday (Dec. 31) at 1 p.m. in the Galen Pavilion.
The Trojans, coming off a 16-11 season in which they advanced to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament, are led by All-American setter Micah Christenson, who started this summer for the U.S. National Team that won a gold medal in FIVB World League play. Other key USC returnees are senior middle blocker Robert Feathers, senior opposite hitter Cristian Rivera and junior outside hitter Alex Slaught, along with 2014 National Freshman of the Year Lucas Yoder at outside hitter and 2014 Freshman All-American middle blocker Andy Benesh.
Alberta currently sports a 23-2 record, including 14-0 in league play.
The Trojans will begin their 2015 regular season with a non-conference road match at Grand Canyon on Jan. 7 before opening MPSF play at home on Jan. 16 against Pepperdine.
